It is with great joy that I invite all of you, on this Good Shepherd Sunday, to enter through Jesus as your gate as we begin a prudent, measured and deliberately phased re-opening of the Cathedral.
BEGINNING ON SUNDAY, MAY 3, Masses honoring the social distancing guidelines we are now all very familiar with will once again be celebrated. The six normal Sunday Mass times in the cathedral will be offered:
8 a m. (reserved for 60 yr olds and older), 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. (Spanish), and 5 p.m.
The number of congregants will be strictly enforced in the church per civil authority’s requirements and social distancing.
Daily and Saturday Mass
Daily Masses are 7 a.m. (through May 29, excluding Memorial Day) and 12:05 noon, Monday-Friday. On Saturday, Mass is at 8 a.m.
Monday - Friday:
Before the 7 am Mass, the church will be opened at 6:30 a.m.
Before the 12:05 pm Mass, the church will be opened at 11:15 am for the rosary at 11:30 am. It will be closed immediately after all have been dismissed in an orderly fashion from mass.
Saturday morning, the church will be opened at 7:30 am and closed after all have been dismissed from the 8 am mass.
Finally, all of the masses will be live-streamed:
The 11 a.m. Mass will be on the Diocesan Website.
All other masses will be on St. Patrick Cathedral's Facebook page.
Again, one is not required to leave your home to attend mass or receive communion. The obligation is dispensed with. But, we are wanting to begin in a very measured and prudent fashion to offer that opportunity, being mindful of social distancing and good hygiene.
